We are ADA Research and Development, a young organization born from the scientific and technical legacy built over more than twenty-five years of work with Amek, carrying forward a path of continuity in research applied to soil fertility and the sustainable management of nutrients. We have gathered not only knowledge, but also method, discipline, sacrifice, and the habit of verifying in the field every working hypothesis, integrating experimentation, long-term observation, and dialogue with the international scientific community.

We conduct biological research in the field of recovery and waste reduction, with particular attention to turning waste and by-products into useful resources, supporting recycling and reuse within a circular-economy approach. From nature and from understanding its processes we draw inspiration to study new nutrient-management systems, developing solutions aimed at reducing material loss and enhancing existing biological cycles.

We work in agronomic and environmental contexts on degraded soils, biogeochemical cycles, efficient nutrient use, and regenerative agriculture practices, contributing, in our small way, to the collective effort to counter soil degradation. We are aware that knowledge is always partial: we keep studying, measuring, and learning, maintaining an experimental and self-critical attitude; if there is one thing we know, it is that we do not know enough, and from this awareness comes our daily commitment to research.

The networks we participate in

We are registered with the Italian Phosphorus Platform to take part in the technical-scientific dialogue needed to close the phosphorus cycle in Italy. We see the Platform as a strategic place to integrate expertise in agronomy, environmental chemistry and wastewater management, and to contribute experimental evidence and reproducible methods for the recovery and valorization of phosphorus from organic matrices.

We recognize phosphorus as a critical material to preserve; our participation aims to promote circular approaches that reduce dependence on imports and safeguard soil quality and water resources. The contribution we can offer includes data mapping within our activities and the promotion of disciplines and engineering solutions we have tested, aimed at saving phosphorus and optimizing its use, with attention to repeatable protocols, agronomic assessments and environmental monitoring.

We participate with the goal of fostering replicable and scalable solutions, based on open data and interdisciplinary collaboration, to turn knowledge into operational practices and support informed technical and policy decisions.

We are registered with ICE-Agency to strengthen and speed up ADA Ricerca’s international presence in foreign markets. Membership lets us leverage a global network of offices and specialized services — market information, trade support, participation in fairs and business missions — useful to promote our solutions in regenerative agriculture, biostimulants and soil health technologies. For us it is important to be recognized among Italian companies that promote Made in Italy worldwide, also in the field of innovation: registration with ICE gives credibility and visibility to our technological and sustainable approach. Registration is also a strategic tool to connect with companies in other countries and promote our innovations with the aim of creating partnerships, collaborations and industrial as well as research synergies. Thanks to ICE support we can access targeted B2B opportunities, contacts with importers and distributors, and sector promotional activities that increase international visibility and reputation. In addition, the relationship with ICE facilitates dialogue with local institutions and potential investors, enabling technical-scientific collaborations and pilot projects abroad.

ADA's associates have been members of the International Fertiliser Society (IFS) for many years to keep a continuous link with the international scientific debate on crop nutrition and responsible nutrient management. The IFS is a forum that promotes the sharing and exchange of knowledge on fertiliser production, use and environmental impacts, bringing together researchers, technicians and supply‑chain professionals.

The mission of the IFS is to promote efficient fertiliser use, improving agronomic performance and reducing impacts on emissions and water quality, while protecting soil health and supporting the circular economy of nutrients. It pursues these goals through conferences, webinars and technical‑scientific publications aimed at the professional community.

Topics covered range from industrial processes and fertiliser formulations to mineral and organo‑mineral nutrition, including controlled‑release fertilisers, inhibitors and the integration of organic and recycled materials. Also central are soil fertility management, digitalisation and precision farming, as well as regulatory and supply‑chain decarbonisation aspects.

Our interest in the IFS is to contribute through research and development activities and the exchange of experimental data: we share our datasets and results to support comparative studies and international collaborations. Through our work we aim, in our small way, to contribute to the global effort to counter soil degradation, promoting nutrient‑management practices that are evidence‑based and replicable.
